Trombone
virtuoso and arranger José SCHYNS who was born in Moresnet (B) in
1959, is one of the finest trombone players in Belgium. After his studies
at the Music Conservatory in Liège, he is now - The solo trombonist
in the famous "Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides" - A member
of the "Théo Mertens brass quintet" - The trombone professor
at the Royal Music Conservatory in Brussels and the music school in Welkenraedt.
As an arranger, he is well known for his talent as a musical colourist and
HAFABRA Music has created a special wind band series called "Great
symphonic transcriptions by José SCHYNS". His transcriptions
respect the original music as no one has done before. In this series, you
will find pieces such as the complete Polovstian Dances (Borodine), España
(Chabrier), the trombone concerto (David), ... On the CD "The Three
Storms", you can hear how he has skilfully adapted for symphonic band
two pieces originally written for fanfare band. Those adaptations have been
realised in collaboration with the composer. |
