"Once I was a dreamer"

This piece, originally entitled "2001 A Brass Odyssey", was commissioned by the National Youth Brass Band of Switzerland to be premiered in the year of its title. I had written a piece which ran the gamut of human moods
and emotions, from the aggressive and energetic to the calm and peaceful, and when looking for a title I could not resist the fact that the novel by Arthur C Clarke had a title that was exactly what I was looking for.
So I substituted the word "Brass" for the word "Space". Like the book, this piece also makes a journey through many adventures. This Fanfare band arrangement was made at the behest of Louis Martinus.
