Comments:

The piece was originally written for trombone and piano and was the test piece at the Royal Music Conservatory of Brussels in 1987 and also at the Pro civitate contest.

The divertimento is in two separate movements. The first movement gives the soloist the opportunity to display his musicianship and lyrical sound quality.

The second movement, in complete contrast, is a very rhythmical and technically demanding piece which gives no respite to the soloist.
