Bio

Geert Flik was born in 1943 in Groningen (The Netherlands). After graduating from HBS-A he studied French for 2 years, after which he completed my military service at the Medical Troops in Amersfoort. From the age of 15 he played trumpet in various harmony and dance orchestras, including Big Band '67 in Groningen. In 1965 he started his trumpet study at the conservatory with Freddy Grin, which he concluded in 1970 with the final diploma in orchestral playing with teaching competence B. During his studies he was invited for a symphonic instrumentation course with the composer, pianist and physician Hans Henkemans (1913 - 1995). This became the basis for his later activities as an arranger and composer. He started making arrangements for the JWF Chapel. These have led to the making of own compositions, including a number of official regimental marches. These are regularly played at military ceremonies.
