"Koel". Score : flexible instrumentation. Duration : approximately 16 minutes. "Koel" (coal mine - pit - hole - collective destinies) is the second movement of a pentaptych tribute to South-Limburg coal miners - Machines Of Mourning - of which "Vaderlament" (father lament), "Inne Sjtaatse Maan" (a stately man) and "Sjtub" (matter - dust - black lung - collective memories) are the third, fourth and fifth movement. The world premiere performance took place on sunday 29 november 2015 @ Rolduc Abbey Kerkrade.  Performers : Parkstad Miners Brass conducted by Ron Daelemans. Please prepare for a rough, severe, ruthless, hammering, oppressing, dangerously boring, but macho minimal music marathon.....
