Bio

"Trombone virtuoso and arranger José SCHYNS who was born in Moresnet (B) in 1959, is one of the finest trombone players in Belgium. After his studies at the Music Conservatory in Liège, he is now - The solo trombonist in the famous ""Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides"" - A member of the ""Théo Mertens brass quintet"" - The trombone professor at the Royal Music Conservatory in Brussels and the music school in Welkenraedt. As an arranger, he is well known for his talent as a musical colourist and HAFABRA Music has created a special wind band series called ""Great symphonic transcriptions by José SCHYNS"". His transcriptions respect the original music as no one has done before. In this series, you will find pieces such as the complete Polovstian Dances (Borodine), España (Chabrier), the trombone concerto (David), ... On the CD ""The Three Storms"", you can hear how he has skilfully adapted for symphonic band two pieces originally written for fanfare band. Those adaptations have been realised in collaboration with the composer."
