After finishing his learning at the music schools of Welkenraedt and Eupen, Roland Smeets, born in 1969, continued his studies at the conservatoire of Liège, where he specialised in harmony, history of music, music analysis and "Solfège Spécialisé" with great success. He then studied at the conservatoires of Luxembourg and Liège orchestral conducting.

As horn player and percussionist, he has already played a.o. with the "Liège Philharmonic Orchestra", the "Royal Opera of Wallonia" and the "André Rieu Strauss Orchestra".

His musical career has already taken him to various countries across the world, such as Spain, Italy, Switzerland, France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Denmark, Canada, Brazil,...

Not only is this self-employed artist from Baelen (Belgium) a music teacher, but he also conducts three wind bands and is composer and arranger for the music publisher "HAFABRA Music". He mainly focuses on arranging film music, however this does not prevent him from arranging other daring music styles or composing his own pieces of music.
