Bio

Teo Aparicio Barberan was born in Enguera, a small town in the province of Valencia, Spain, in 1.967.  He studied at the Carcaixent, Valencia and Gerona conservatories where he obtained degrees in Saxophone, Composition and Orchestral Conducting. Teo Aparicio is a doctor in music at the Faculty of Humanities at CEU University.

 Teo Aparicio has composed  more than 150 works for different instrumental groups. His music has been performed in Austria, Germany, France, Switzerland, Portugal, Colombia, Cuba,  Russia, Norway, Belgium, Japan, Netherlands and USA, etc. His works have been included in numerous national and international competitions such as the International Contest of Valencia, the WMC in Holland, Fliscorno di Oro in Italy etc. His music is contained in more than 15 CD,s  and edited by the moust important editorials of the world. He is a member of the WASBE. He is the winner of the EUTERPE award for best symphonic music creation in 2012 for your piece “The Rise of the Phoenix”.

 He has been principal conductor of the bands of Enguera, Fte. La Higuera, Vva. Castellon, Quart de Poblet, Alaquàs, Xativa, Benifairó de la Valldigna and invited in numerous instrumental ensembles (Symphonic band of Lliria, L'Ampurda Orchestra, Symphony  Orchestra of Albacete, Municipal Band of Palma de Mallorca, Union Musical de Monserrat,  Sta. Maria da Feira in Portugal, Municipal Bands of Alicante, Valencia, A Coruña,  National Band of La Habana in Cuba, National Band of San José de Costa Rica,  Band  of the Russian Defense Ministry in Moscow, Nisinomiya band in Japan, etc. For the years 2007-2009 has been principal conductor of the Band of the FSMCV.

In addition to his work as a composer, Teo Aparicio is professor of instrumentation at different international academies as well as artistic director of the Valencia Professional Winds orchestra.
