The appropriately entitled "Welcome the Queen" is a march that follows closely the tradition: it opens in fanfare-like introductory calls. The low register instruments take charge for a moment in preparation for the main theme's full blown burst of joy. This level of exhilaration cannot go on for too long, and a subsidiary theme slightly relax the atmosphere. The excitement returns with the repetition of the main theme. A bridge slows down the movement, leading a totally different atmosphere with its melody, noble but full of nostalgic flavor. The first section is then repeated, and finally the Trio returns, but this time the orchestral sound gives prominence to the solemnity over the nostalgia. A brief coda, based on the opening fanfare closes this excellent march.
